Valentine Pink layer cake

I was off sick from work today for reason my doctor cannot even explain but that's a whole different story. I am one of those people who just cant sit still even if sick or those moments when you should be relaxing my brain doesn't switch off. So in my trying to sleep today after taking some awesome pain killers that are suppose to make me drowsy somehow today they made me wide awake.

So I baked a cake and here it is with ingredients and all.

Ingredients to a basic vanilla cake:

185g Butter, Softened

1 cup caster sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla essence

3 large eggs

2 cups self-raising flour

Method:

1. Preheat oven at 180°c

2. Beat the butter, sugar & vanilla together until creamy

3. Add the eggs one at a time and beat well after each addition

4. Sift flour over the mixture alternate with adding milk, stir lightly in

(this is where i changed it a bit)

5. Separate the batter into two separate bowls, add food colouring of your choice to each bowl ( I added pink, one bowl had 2 drops the other had about 4)

6. Spoon batter into prepared tin and bake for approx 40 minutes, every ones ovens are different so bake to your specific oven and be sure to check it regularly.

7. Cool cake in tin for a few minutes before turning it out to a wire rack.

Icing I just used a basic butter cream frosting I would suggest just googling it.

Yesterday here in Australia was our day Australia day. The regular thing to do on Aussy day is drink lots of rum, while listening to the Triple J hottest one hundred, playing a few drinking games and then a game of backyard cricket. Today I could seriously go for doing this! Being carefree maybe go find a park somewhere take a good book and a nice fresh salad, just lay down and bask in the glory of the sun and warmth.

I got in the car this morning drove to work came in put my food in the lunch fridge and sat down at my desk. All the time not even thinking, you know that feeling when you are in a routine, when you aren't even thinking about leaving the house and locking the door or getting every green light on the way to work. Usually if that happens and I get every green light it sets me up for the rest of the day. but no this morning I was in a zombie like state, just another day. When all I could think about is getting home and painting the office and decorating my office and setting up cute like organised sections of my office. Not long now though, its Thursday today and I am finishing at 1 pm on Friday which means I will have some extra time to do some painting :)

Ok so a little while ago I may have mentioned that we are painting our house, it is my boyfriends parents house and we are renting it off them. I love it for some reasons and hate it for others, which im sure everyone has the same feeling about their house. Tomorrow I will do a post of some of the rooms in my house. Anyways seeing as I am starting my Graphic Design course in oh about 25 days, my country boy and i figured I should probably have some sort of office. I will dropping my work hours down to 3 days a week, also I totaly want a room that I can decorate and make my own. So seeing as our room mate/ Counrty boys sister has moved out we thought it would be good to change her room into a study. 2012 it is definitely going to be full on year that is for sure but don’t worry I will be sure to keep you up to date. I am however very excited for one thing at the very end of the year! My country boys little sister C is finishing High school and for her Formal I get to do her hair and makeup. Now I'm no professional that’s for sure but when I was in high school I was the go to girl for hair and makeup I would have at least 6 of my friends at my place before socials and dances we were going to. Even just going out on the weekend it would be an all out girl fest at my house. I now think back and feel so very sorry for my mother having all these giggling girls running around our house. So anyways as I am doing her hair and make up I thought I best do some research, her dream dress is a Grace Kelly inspired dress (which we may have found one online just like it last night).

I am back

I am back from holidays, and what a great holidays it was a week out at Eulo at my boyfriends, parents property. We went motorbike riding and swam in the river behind the house. It was wonderful and hot and with great company it couldn't have been any better. We spent from Christmas eve to new years day out there, we then headed to the sunshine coast for a 3 day holiday with 12 hours drive ahead of us on new years day we were sure not to stay up to late after midnight.

This year I have not created a new years resolution because there is not really any bad habits i want to kick I don't smoke, I don't drink copious amounts of alcohol and I don't eat lots of fatty food. So this year all I am concentrating on is making my dreams come true. I am starting my Graphic design course starting in February I will be dropping my hours down from 38 per week to 22 hours per week. Finally I feel like my life is coming together nicely I cant wait to finish this course and get started on my future goals.

Also I plan on focusing more on my blog keeping everyone up to date with whats going on and I love hearing my lovely followers thoughts on things I talk about, so be sure to email me or comment on my posts to let me know whats on your mind.

With the silly season upon us I feel so terrible that I have not been doing many post lately. I will give you a quick update as to what has been happening in my life. As I am starting my Diploma of Graphic Design and going part time with my work next year I have been running around like a headless chook trying to get things organised for when I will be only part time. For the last week I have been very sick with a chest infection and inflamed tonsils which makes me feel like sleeping 24/7 so that I get better asap. It would suck to be sick on Christmas.

For Christmas I will be going to my boyfriends place which is 10 hours west of where I live for a week and then I will be doing the opposite for the following week and hitting the beach to get some lovely vitamin D. I am looking forward to the holidays so much I think being sick is my bodies way of telling me I need a holiday.

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas have some nice drinks and food with friends and family and Santa spoils you rotten.

Well It is getting closer anyways, I am big on christmas and birthday and aniversarys any reason to give a little bit of love someones way or on my birthday give some love my way is a good reason. Birthdays are big for me I am still like a little kid I count down the days and when it gts to my birthday it is all about me. I tell everyone its my birthday just to have my 5 seconds of fame. When it comes to other peoples birthday I always try and make them feel special because its the one day that is about them! I will bake them cupcakes, plan a party and or send continuous texts messages reminding them how old they hehe. My friend at work is the same her family calls it "Birthday Culture". I have stole this and am going to now use it forever. So getting in the christmas spirit early I thought I would make a list of things I want for christmas but are out of everyone budget so it will probably never happen.. A girl can dream.

The weekend just gone was Roma Cup, a race day that is located in you guessed it Roma (Queensland, Australia). As this year was all about colourblocking my very great looking boyfriend and I did a wonderful job I think. He is a stylish boy and whatever he wears looks good on him. I was wearing a little pink dress from Miss shop and my lace gloves I thrifted from the vintage lifeline in town.

It was a great weekend lots of laughs, a road trip, dancing so everything interesting haha. I never gamble and i also won $10 I didnt even know what i was betting on i just coppied what someone else had said and picked number 8 because its my lucky number.

Overall wonderful weekend.

This weekend has been wonderful, wonderful weather, wonderful company just Wonderful!!
I mentioned the other day that my camera tripod arrived its is my Christmas present from my dad. So my country boys little sister that we sprung from boarding school for the weekend and Morgan a close friend of mine were lovely enough to offer to be my models for the day. Hair and makeup thanks to me and styling also by me it was lots of fun. I also got a spray tan which is always wonderful and makes me look super pretty. I am a little battered and bruised though after a interesting game of touch football with all of my boyfriends mates on Saturday afternoon. That combined with painting ceilings on Sunday has left me very sore and stiff.
I will put up all of the pictures in a post soon this is just a preview of one.

Its starting to feel like summer

So though I have the fairest skin in the world thanks to my welsh, irish and english skin I love getting some good old Vitamin D. At the moment the weather is beautiful its gotten to the point where you can feel summer is nearly here. It is my favorite time or the year, sleeping with the fan on full but still being able to have a blanket on you. Hot enough to go for a run in the afternoon but cool enough that you dont feel as if you could pass out from the heat. The days are getting longer, oh and not to mention I get to get spray tans again!!! whats your favorite part of summer?

Interview with Naimah from DMae Clothing

I recently did an interview with the wonderful Naimah from DMae Clothing, I hope you enjoy learning more about her. I sure did!!

How long have you been creating and blogging for? I’ve been creating for as long as I can remember. I can’t remember a time where art wasn’t a part of my life in some way, shape, or form. DMae started in 2003 first as a hobby. I’d create items for friends and family I thought they’d enjoy. A few years later I caught the eye of a local boutique owner who carried my fist line in 09. I began blogging over 5 years ago, just letting go of some thoughts/poetry. For DMae I’ve been blogging for nearly 3 years. It finally seems to be coming together all at once. It’s a bit of a challenge, but, I’m more than ready for it.

Do you have a process for choosing which designs you make? I don’t think so. Well, let me say that I don’t put myself through a process looking for the outcome to manifest a design. It usually comes to me when I’m relaxed, and not trying to force it. My inspiration seems to pinch me as I’m just enjoying myself or have seen another’s work, and have fallen for it.

If your personality was a item of clothing what would it be? and why? Is it too easy if I say a T-shirt?! My closet is FULL of them. I think that they’re so versatile, and there are so many different styles, colors, and textures. As a person I believe I’m a chameleon of sorts.

What other things interest you? Music is something I couldn’t do without, I even have a hard time painting if I’m in silence. Writing as well, I’ve always written….poetry, short stories, letters, and articles. I love it all. Creative writing, art and Choir were my favorite classes when I was in school. I write for a site called iamhighvoltage.com which combines two of my first loves. I write reviews of albums, concerts, and feature pieces on artist. Printmaking is becoming a huge love of mine as well. I began taking weekend classes in 08 and I just can’t stop!

If you wanted to be described in one word what would it be? and why? Zeal For me life, love, art, music…the things, people, and places that we choose or the universe throws into our lives should do nothing but enhance the energy and passion we have for it all. Zeal is just that, passion, and intensity.

Do you have a favorite blog that you follow religiously? There are a few: noparticularorder, the dainty squid, frecklednest, moorea seal, a beautiful mess
Where is your favorite place to shop? Plato’s closet, h&m, forever 21, buffalo exchange, urban outfitters, target, anyplace that has a great deal, that’s flattering. Labels don’t matter to me. If it looks good, and it’s affordable, I love it.

What are your future dreams/ goals for yourself and your blog? There are so many! For myself it’s to finish getting my degree in public relations, to be able to spend more time writing while becoming a better writer. Continuing to learn, and grow as a person. To have a better understanding of who I am. For DMae it’s expanding my brand, developing new products and designs. Developing my blog to a place where someone may just list it as a blog they follow religiously.

I am so looking forward to this weekend! I know its only Wednesday but all things wonderful are happening. On of my closest friends Morgan has just bought a spray tan machine and she is going to start doing them at night time for some extra cash. Guess who gets to be the practice kid...ME. So Friday night she is coming over we are testing out her new machine she is going to do mine and then I am going to do hers. Also my Country boys little sister who is a full time boarding school student at one of the private schools in town is coming out on leave with us this weekend. She has been so kind to let me do a photo shoot of her (my new tripod arrived today also exciting) Morgs my spray tan friend has also agreed to letting me do a shoot of her so fun filled Saturday it will be. Definitely keep and eye out for the pictures they will be up as soon as possible!!!

So I thought I would do a new thing I am going to try to every sunday write down a few suggestions that you can do, in the week to come, to make your week seem fulfilled. I hate getting to the end of the week and realising I didnt accomplish anything and it was just a week wasted.

The focus this week is all about love, love of others, love of food, love of your home most importantly love of yourself. Keep this in mind when planning your week.

Monday-

Today start your day off with some body love, have you not used that gym membership in a while or have been meaning to take your new joggers for a run. I find that if you excercise first thing on a monday morning can wake you and get you energised for the week ahead.

Tuesday-

For the love of food, make something delicious. Even if you dont own a recipe book the internet (this strange new thing everyone is raving about) has a million and more sites on cooking and different receipes do some googleing and find something that sounds amazing.

Wednesday -

Do a little bit of Feng Shui and give you house a bit of love, google the goods and bads of feng shui so you dont just guess that you are right. I would hate for you to get things all wrong.

Thursday-

Make some time for you, get prepared for the weekend. If you hav not got anything planned just have a nice bubble bath and shave your legs or if you are heading to a sunny destination do some exfoliating and get your fake tan out. Nothing wrong with a little bronzing, it is a much better way of tanning with out the dangors of UV rays.

Friday-

Organise to have coffee or dinner with a friend. They could be an old friend you have been meaning to catch up with or a new friend you want to know a bit more about. It's alway nice to catch up on what is happening

with other people it can also help you take your mind off things if you are a bit stressed from the week just been. So wind down and there is definetly nothing wrong with a glass or two of wine.

Saturday-

If it is nice weather today why not pack a picnic for you and your other half or a few friends. Find a nice park and even take a ball so you can play some games. If its horrible and rainy outside head down and rent some movies from your local movie store, this can still be done with friends or your other half make some yummy snacks (healthy) and snuggle up in your blankets and enjoy some time together.

Sunday-

What a brilliant day to relax and read a book you can do this anywhere be sure that you have a book you love because other wise it is not so enjoyable. make sure you just relax today especially if you know you have a busy week ahead its important to relax and gather your thoughts so that you can start nice and fresh on Monday morning.

So I mentioned yesterday we were going to the Cold Chisel concert in Brisbane last night. WOW! I had such a great time they were amazing and I am very glad we got the opportunity to see them because I don't think they will ever do another concert tour. The concert finished about 11pm not to bad it takes about an hour and a half to get home which put us being home about 12.30am. Decent considering both my country boy and I have to work today. But as always things didn't go to plan. After taking until 12 just to get out of the car park, trying to find the stupid place my brother was staying to drop him off (NOT HAPPY WITH HIM ATM) and then also having to drop his friend home on the way....2.30am was about the time my head finally got to hit that brilliant fluffy thing that helps me sleep at night, my pillow. So this picture above just about covers exactly where i would rather be right now, not sitting at work trying to concentrate long enough that I don't fall asleep.

Moral of the story:

Even if you love your brother very much and would do anything for him, you don't always have to do nice things for him especially when it is your work life that is effected by his stupidity.

Appreciating the Greats

My boyfriend and I were discussing last night that wouldn’t it be a sad world if we never had our parents to bring us up loving the music of Creedence Clearwater, Cold Chisel/ Jimmy Barns, AC/DC and many more. This may have been brought on as we are going to see Cold Chisel tonight at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.

I have this conversation with my dad before and actually and have thanked him for bringing me up around music. I think having my family constantly listening to different sorts of music, any sort of music and having music in mine and my brothers lives it has made us more aware in a certain way. In school we get forced to learn about music but I don’t think it can be taught it has be something you learn thoughout your life. Now I am not saying that I am a brilliant musician or singer I am saying that I can appreciate the value of good lyrics or a solid beat. I find it both disapointing and absolutly heart wrenching when I put on a song for example Khe Sanh by Cold Chisel and a friend I am with asks me who sings it or what it is as if it is a new song song just come out by a random band. No respect I say!

First ever halloween costume, Playboy bunny and my country boy went as Hugh Hefner. I spent a total of $10 on my outfit.

Dress- I have had that in my cupboard for year and just altered it a little.

Ears - $10 from party hut ( they were white I cut the white fluffyness off and recovered them with black and blue)

Shoes- I worn Black leathers shoes

I had a great night many laughs were had. At the party they were some lovely cross dressing zombie brides, Mini Mouse, Hulk and Gangsters.

So this weekend I have some wonderful things planned I am painting my bathroom... may not be exciting for you but it is very exciting in my eyes. Another part of my house that will be a little less 1960's salmon and a little more elegant white. Oh I also have my first ever halloween party as we dont really celebrate it in Australia so it should be super fun. I have DIY my outfit, I am going as a playboy bunny (scary I know) I will do a post next week to show you what it looks like. I also do some awesome thrifting this week and found my boyfriend a silk red dressing gown so he is going as Hugh Hefner we will make a cute pair I think.

Yes I did it, I have been so nervous having to tell my work that I have been accepted into CATC design school to do a Diploma in commercial arts (Graphic Design) and yesterday I did it. I got up and just walked into my office managers office and told her. The thing is in a way I'm scared because I love my work place so much but I wouldn't be surprised if they say that they are going to need someone to be working full time.

Well what happens happens in the end I will be doing my course I am so excited to start. 13th February 2012 is my start date. I really hope the world doesn't end next year because that would not be fun at all!

Also I cant believe it is nearly Christmas yesterday I handed out the 'Not so Secret Santa' list to my family that states who is buying for who.

Time to get thinking I suppose.

What a lovely way to start a Monday with an accidentally hour long conversation with a cousin I haven't spoken to in years. (I love how small the world is sometimes) This has strangely given me incentive it could be that we were talking about my aunt who has recently been diagnosed with alzheimer's, or that I have not seen my cousin in so long that she has had two children I have not yet met. So that's it no more putting my life on hold waiting for something to come along its time to get things on track heading to my goals and my dreams of the future. I am going to start my Diploma of Commercial arts next year, I am going to make time to see my friends more, I am going to put more time into my art and love for creative thinking.

I would love to hear from you what is it that you have put on hold that you wish you didn't? Has this affected your life in some way?

Yay for it being Friday! I am very excited for this weekend as we are going to whats called a B&S ball (Bachelors and Spinsters) in case you don't know what this is well it pretty much a great big party. It is usually held at a showground arena in a little town in the country (Australia). Everyone turns up about lunch time on a Saturday to set up camp and roll out the swags in the car park (grass car park). It's then customary to have a few drinks to loosen up, the country music usually comes on not long after this. When its time to go inside the arena around 6pm it is a black tie event so boys if you are not wearing a bow tie sorry no entry and Lady's dresses are to be worn please. Once in the arena the fun starts, a few more drinks are customary and the music gets louder. If you ever go to one be sure to put on your dancing feet because you dance the night away. The B&S Ball I am attending tomorrow night is "Scrubbers" held in a tiny town Laidley (sounds classy I know) Scurbbers last year was when my country boy and I had a our first kiss. So it is a bit of a memorable one for me. Now if you have ever heard bad things about a B&S that 'it's full of country bumpkins/rednecks' then you have probably heard correct. It isn't the most civilised of people who attend these shindigs but if you ever go to just be sure to remember:

Lady's wear dresses
Boys wear bow ties
Put on your dancing feet
Grab a fun group of friends to go with
Don't forget your swag and pillow
And be sure to have a good time.

I can not remember going to one where I did not have fun.

My home

I haven't written about what has been going on in my life lately as I have been a little preoccupied. Last weekend our house got broken into. We left home around 6 o'clock to go to a dinner party my friend was having. On the way home at 1 am my boyfriend got a phone call from his sister/ our housemate to tell us the house has been broken into her car stolen and the house has been trashed. First thing I could think of was "crap I hope they didn't steel my laptop" and "I hope they haven't ruined all my painting I did in the laundry" once we got home and had a look around the only things that had been stolen was sister/ house mates car and Mr country and my holiday fund that was in a money tin on our bedside table which was about $300. Both bedrooms had been ransacked clothes ripped out of the cupboards my memory suitcase had been emptied on the bed, it was a complete mess. The police came and had a look around they couldn't do much just take a statement from each of us oh and stomp dirt through our house (you think they would have taken their dirty shoes of or something). We weren't aloud to touch anything so had to sleep in the spare bedroom. On Sunday it was so very CSI we had a forensic investigator come and dust for prints. Unfortunately the sneaky buggers used socks off our clothes line so they didn't find much. The house has been cleaned now however I wish there were such things as tidy burglars who came into your house and cleaned instead of creating a mess.

Moral of the story be sure to lock all your windows.

I am also so very, very excited to say that I am applying to do a Diploma of Commercial Arts (graphic design) next year. I have always been a very creative person but have never been sure as to what I want to do. I love learning about all the new things you can do with technology and I love designing things so how could it not be amazing. As my boyfriends is a country boy and hopes to one day go back out there and hopefully I will go with him. It would be nice to be able to have something that allows me to run my own business mostly online.

I got my hair done last night, it was my second time visiting this hairdresser she has just opened her own business in an arcade near where i work. Everyone always seems to find their one hairdresser and stick to them, I have not yet had the priveldge to be able to find a hair dresser I love and book weeks in advance because I know I want her to do my hair again. But I think I have found her, the one and only, my official hairdresser.
So keeping in the hair theme I have found a cute hair tutorial site I wanted to show. It also has some great beauty tutorials its amazing the amount of things you can do so be sure to check it out. I am hopfully going to be doing a photoshoot of my boyfriend's sister this weekend if the wheather is kind to me. I will be sure to try some of these out .

I have always loved this saying and in many way i think it has impacted my life and the way that I think. So my suggestion to you is incorporate this into your life somehow. If you are born great (which I think everyone is) then live up to that greatness. If you want to open your own business or travel the world then achieve it with greatness. If you are put in the spot where you have greatness thrust upon you, through being offered a great job that you have always dreamed about or put in a situation where you are forced to create something that you never thought you could. Just do it, don't be afraid you only live once, why sit on the sidelines of your own life. Live the life you want and deserve and be great at it.

Friday Love

I am very excited to be painting the inside of my house this weekend, I will no longer have horrible fake wood random grove walling in my rumpas room and soon will have white walls rather then 1960's pink!! My boyfriend has given me the job, he thinks that because I can paint pictures I can paint walls... oh well very excited none the less. I am painting the walls white and the ceilings will be off white/creamy colour very elegant I think. Wish me luck.
I will do a before and after shot for you so you can see how I went with my very first wall painting experience :) I hope you all have a beautiful weekend and get up to lots of mischief.

My Creative Juices

Another one of my random pictures I have done, I did this one last week I have had it in my pile to draw for a while now and I finally got around to it. Hope you like it.

I also am now on the search for a new digital camera my recent one has passed its used by date from living in my hand bag and getting a little knocked around luckily it was only one I got through my points from my credit card. I think I am wanting a Nikon P500 (the red one). I would love to be snapping a lot more pictures for this blog and get my creative juices flowing. If you have any suggestions please leave me a comment and let me know.

Also a bit of a note on how I am going with my Radical Self Love Boot camp. I am loving it already I am feeling better about myself it is such a lovely idea. I can't stress how much I think everyone needs to love themselves a little more. By loving yourself it not only makes you feel good but it will reflect in every aspect of your life. Already it has shown in my work, my relationships and even my art.

Playing it Safe

I was sitting in having a smoothie at the FireFly café at lunch today it is a cute little café that has opened up in my town. I was sitting at the front window on one of the couches. it was pretty quite in there so of course everything seemed to catch my attention. I have to admit I was earsdropping a little but who doesn't do that? I watched these two ladies around 50 walk in the look at the menu, the women saw that FireFly didn’t have the usual type of meals you may get at a café. I however like this because it feels like somehow our little old town is getting hip and trying something new. The two women did not like it after looking at the menu for about 2 minutes maximum, and a few under their breath mumbles they just walked out without a word. They nice girl who is on counter to take your orders was a little taken back by this talking to one of the other staff members saying that she didn’t even have a chance to see what they would like or if they needed any help.

Next in walked a young man and his girlfriend around the age of 25, the first thing they did with a big smile was walked up to the counter greeting the girl serving they had a look at the menu asking about nearly every item on there. The girl serving also ran through what asortment of fresh drinks they had on offer today one was rockmelon and mint smoothie, strawberry smoothie or a watermelon pinapple and orange juice.

The next thing the young man said did not so much surprise me but just made me think 'I'll just have the strawberry thanks, sounds safe'.

Keeping with the safe option seems to be the worlds fortay. At my work everytime someone has a birthday we all get together in the boardroom and celebrate. The last time we were in there I asked one of the ladies if she is going to her regular appartemnt for chistmas holidays this year, without a doubt she said yes. This then began the discusion of why not try somewhere new. She said 'why try somewhere new when we are happy with where we go now'. One of the other ladies said 'If you keep going to the same place how will you know there isnt something out there that’s better?'.

I'll admit when I go out for breakfast I always have the eggs benedict but and I always try to convince myself it's not because I'm playing it safe but because it's my favorite. So maybe next time I go out to breakfast I should try something different because you never know you might find something even better than you favorite.

Dress to Impress Yourself

I have been a bit naughty lately indulging in some personal retail therapy. I have always been the type of girl to go shopping with other people but I have recently decided that I am not a shop with friend's type person. 'Dress to impress, yourself'. This is my new motto. It's amazing now days there are so many people with so many different trends and styles, shops trying to make their fashion style the new trend this season. The worst thing is however with all this having to following of trends I get exhausted it's not fun shopping when people say oh this is so in right now and you put it on and it makes you look like a crazy bag lady or just someone that you are not. I have forever been a lover of bright colours, this is hard to find in a fashion world filled with creams little pinks and whites. Although I am very excited that there is such an array of websites that are from outside of Australia that give me the flexibility to buy what suits me and makes me smile at myself in the mirror in the morning. So I have decided to shop by myself I have no outer influences to make me feels embarrassed of what I am buying and when I wear it I wear it with confidence and the knowledge that I feel good about myself in this outfit.

Because at the end of the day you are the one who looks at yourself in the mirror and you have to love what you see not what other people see.

Radical Self Love Bootcamp

So as I have been a little lost lately in life in general and I stumbled upon this gorgeous lady from New Zealand making it big in New York City. Here name is GalaDarling she is ‘on a mission to spread radical self-love throughout the universe!’. She is a hell of fashionista and seems to always have the right thing to say on her blog. I have now been following her blog since the start of year. On the 2^nd of October here in Australia her Radical Self Love Bootcamp got underway. Bringing many beautiful women from all over the world together in the wish of loving themselves. Every woman who has decided to undertake this 30 day bootcamp, has a different reason for entering into this journey of falling in love with themselves. My reason for joining the Radical Self Love Bootcamp is that I am little lost in my life and I would love someone to put it out on a platter and help me love myself and give me confidence to then spread what my purpose in life will be, to the world.

I would highly suggest this to anyone as well as helping you fall back in love with yourself it keeps your mind busy and focuses your attention on something.

I am constantly fascinated by the people who go through life without a worry they know there place, what they want to be, how they are going to get there. I am very unhappy to say I am not one of these people, yet. You can call it whatever you want your dream, your fantasy, your life preference. I like to call it your path to happiness, everyone has one even if you don’t realise it. It may be stored in the back of your memory, for many years other things such as bills children or lovers have piled up onto of it and you have forgotten and one day it could just click. You could be one day walking along the street miserable going to yet another day at your not so rewarding job. When suddenly like a ton of bricks it hits you, the dream you had as a child of growing up and being your own boss because no one is allowed to tell you what to do, or that random dream of ballerina as many of us did dream to be. But why didn’t you get there and take that leap into the unknown of you path to happiness.

So don’t hold back try and remember what your dream was a child or middle school student. Write them down somewhere and get out there and do something about it. There is no point in being miserable for the rest of you life because of some bad decisions you have made. So go out and take that hiphop class you have always wanted to do or attend a art class at your local art café or university. What ever you have been craving to do, DO IT. Don’t wait until time passes you by and you have forgotten like many have take advantage of the now and find your very own path to happiness.

Weekend Wonder

So unfortunately on this fine Saturday morning my man has to work until 10am. But lucky for him the handmade markets that are on in our town every 1st Saturday of the month start at 9 and finish at 3. Very excited to go and see what pretty thing my little old town can come up with. Last weekend someone tried to organise a vintage markets but somehow I don't think my home town knows the difference between vintage (yay) and hippie (boo) so they were a slight let down. as for the rest of my weekend I think I need to do some serious studying and get my latest assignment finished.

Recently I have been focusing on drawing people. The picture above was what I believe to be a successful little drawing. I have to admit to steeling the original picture out of a 3 month old Cosmo that was laying around my house. I used pencil and pen for drawing the girl and watercolour paints to colour the apple. I am also very excited to announce that I have three painting going up in a new/ cute/quirky cafe in the month of October. You know when you are going to watch a movie at the cinemas, before you go into your flick you get to choose all your favorite lollies to put into a bag… well that is me I am a very interesting choice of mixed lollies.

First things first my name is Samantha I live in Australia and I am 19 years of age. I work a 8.30 to 5 job 5 days a week, live with my boyfriend and I am studying by distance education a Diploma in Human Resource management at my local Tafe.

I am very creative, for as long as I can remember I have had a love for all thing crafty and colourful. In my spare time you will find my with a paint brush or pencil in hand. I enjoy trying new things and basically will give anything a go.

I love fashion and try to keep up with the latest trends as much as my not so disposable income currently allows.

When it comes to my day job I am very dedicated receptionist.. yes I am just a receptionist but I get to do a very broad range of things. I enjoy the business side of things and put my hand up for whatever I can do to help out whether it is creating new processes and procedures for our office or planning the staff Christmas party. This explains my random need to study business, next course I plan to complete is Cert IV in Small Business management. Hopefully this will help me with my future plans of owning my own little part of cyber space where I intend to sell things such as notebooks, note cards, greeting card, prints of my artworks etc. I plan to write about my progressions in this blog as often as possible.

So I hope you enjoy watching me grow into what I hope will one day be a successful business woman/ mother/ wife/ artist.. basically whatever my future may hold.
